Landscape Description: “Manicured by Nature – Perfectly Imperfect”
Step into a peaceful Slice of Paradise, where the landscape is shaped by the rhythms of Florida’s native environment. Rather than aiming for a manicured garden, the homeowner works with what nature provides, allowing the space to evolve organically.
This landscape is a haven for wildlife. Visitors may spot a marsh hare nibbling on mimosa, an owl resting in the shade, or an anole lizard darting through the foliage. Overhead, ospreys often soar, while cardinals, blue jays, and the occasional early-rising mockingbird provide a lively soundtrack.
From the lanai, the homeowner enjoys the simple beauty of watching nature unfold. The space is not overly controlled — and that’s intentional. It celebrates native plants, natural processes, and the wildlife they support.
This stop offers a heartfelt reminder that sometimes the most meaningful landscapes are those left a little wild — perfectly imperfect, just as nature intended.
Challenges: I removed some Brazilian pepper with the help of Karen Hill and her husband Adam and I trimmed down my Boston Ferns.
Parking Restrictions: I have a driveway that could fit up to four cars or parking at Fred Lee Park is also an option.
