Landscape Description: Ballard Park is an area of high use by families using the picnic areas, boaters launching their boats at the boat ramps, and families visiting the playground and tennis courts. The native planting project is in a small area opposite the basketball courts adjacent to boat trailer parking.  The plants selected include Jamaican caper, fakahatchee grass, coco plum, buttonwood, and other salt-tolerant plants.

Challenges: The planting is in an area of high stress because of its exposure to winds off the lagoon and salt spray.
