Landscape Description: I got into planting natives 30 years ago after a butterfly gardening seminar held along a riverside park by the Marine Resources Council. I planted many plants from Maple Street Natives. Then, a year or two ago, we found our Water Oak in our backyard was dead in the middle. So, after thousands of dollars to remove it with the need for a crane, plus my husband wanted to put in a shed, we reached out to Skip Healey’s company, Change of Greenery to help put our yard back together. I am so thrilled with the mulch path lined with coquina stone plus how Skip has made the roots of the tree a focus point for plantings of Red Sage, Rouge Plant, Goldenrod and more. I love my yard!

Challenges: Dead tree removal with the remains of the trunk and its roots. Skip Healey has embraced the challenge and I now love the pockets of natives that have been planted amongst the roots.

Parking Restrictions: Limited parking on the street. Fred Lee Park offers parking options which is 200 feet away from our house.
